I was born in South East coastal Durban, South Africa so now I’ve washed up in the beautiful seaside Village of Cullercoats.
After 17 Years in rural Northumberland during which I set up and ran, a 5* Gold award winning Holiday let business it was time to set sail again; this time to the magical North East Coast, to the Edge, to a place where I was destined to be.
John Masefield’s often recited yearning in these well-known words from “Sea Fever” (1902):
“I must go down to the seas again, to the lonely sea and the sky,
And all I ask is a tall ship and a star to steer her by;
And the wheel’s kick and the wind’s song and the white sail’s shaking,
And a grey mist on the sea’s face, and a grey dawn breaking”.
